In the morning after getting up, it is recommended to lightly shake out the down comforters and pillows and air them well.
However, avoid shaking only one side, as this can cause the down to shift inside the comforter.
As a rule, lighter down comforters and standard pillows can be washed in the washing machine at 60 °C on a gentle cycle.
Make sure the washing machine has a minimum capacity of 7 kg.
It’s best to use a mild detergent or a special down detergent.
Avoid using regular detergents or fabric softeners, as they can damage the structure of the down and feathers.
To prevent the down from clumping, we recommend adding laundry balls to both the washing machine and dryer – they help loosen the filling during the wash cycle.
To keep the down nice and fluffy, comforters and pillows should definitely be placed in the dryer after washing.
Air drying or drying in the sun is not suitable.
We recommend about three short, gentle drying cycles. Between each cycle, the comforter or pillow can be lightly shaken.
Repeat this process until the down and feathers are completely dry – residual moisture should be avoided at all costs.
After drying, it is best to let the pillows cool down in a dry place, so the filling can fully expand.
If you prefer to have the cleaning done by professionals, we will gladly recommend a suitable specialist service in your area.
