Eider down has always been considered a precious natural product. Following a centuries-old tradition, Icelandic farmers still collect the incomparably light, soft and warming eider down by hand. The farmers live in a kind of symbiosis with the eider ducks. They protect the duck colonies and are rewarded with the trust of the free-living animals. They receive up to 15 grams of valuable eider down per nest.
